Austin-Nichole
Zachrich is a 15-year-old Ohio native and aspiring actress and singer.
She wrote the following words about her interests and her anti-drug
outlook:
"I started acting when I was in 5th grade and tried to get
a part in every local production I could. I fell in love with the
stage and lights. When a local television director asked if I would
want to do a teen program I jumped at the chance. I wanted to bring
a program to our community that was fun, educational, entertaining
and positive.
There are so many programs that are in the media that concentrate
their efforts on negative behavior of kids. There are so many positive
things kids are doing and those are the stories I want to share.
Each show, I recognize kids that are doing great things in our world!
I believe that we can truly make a difference in our future if we
stay focused on the positive and educate kids on other options they
have in life. I think that a lot of drug use happens when kids are
neglected and bored. I hope that by steering kids towards positive
programs it will help them stay away from drugs.
What is my Anti-Drug? Besides school, acting, singing and dancing,
I am involved in community volunteerism. There is so much out there
to do in the world and I don't want to waste a minute of my time
high on anything but life. If I had one message for kids today it
is to get involved! There are so many people who need your help
and you can't give it to them if you waste your time on drugs.
I am working very hard on my acting career right now and hope to
become a household name one of these days."
